IPMS Houston welcomes you to Modelmania. Houston’s largest, fine-scale model show. The show is open to the general public and is attended by many from all over the state and region. Each year an average of 600 scale models are entered in the contest.
ModelMania 2025
ModelMania 2025 is planned for May 3, 2025. Please check periodically for updates.
The theme for ModelMania 2025 theme is “007 – License to Build”. Any subject related any James Bond Movie.
General
The 2025 flyer is now available. However, there will be updates as planning progresses. So, check back from time to for more information. The 2025 flyer includes specifics for the awards, rules, eligibility requirements, event guidelines, fees, and judging information. However, all of your questions should be answered below and on the Contest Page. We promise to be more diligent updating the information.

Registration
To enter each contestant must fill out one: Contest Registration Form per person and one Model Entry Form per model. The Registration Forms are .pdf format and are not digitally fillable. The Model Entry will need to be printed as a two-sided document. We are developing fillable .pdfs and will post them when they become available.

Fees
General Admission
- Adults: $5.00
- Youths (ages 6-16) $2.00
- Children (age 5 & under): Free
- If entered in contest: Free

- Adults $10.00 – First Model
- $2.00 – For Each Additional Model
- Juniors $5.00 – First Model
- $1.00 – For Each Additional Model
- Beginners $1.00 – Each Model
Location
The show is located just southwest of the heart of Houston at:
10505 Cash Road,
Stafford, TX.
A food vendor will be onsite. So, if you don’t want to leave the building, you can grab a bite to eat and get right back to the show.
If you do need a break, there are plenty of nearby restaurants.

Door Prizes
- First ticket included free with a General Admission Ticket or Contest Entry.
- Additional tickets available for a $1 each or a stretch of 30 tickets for $20.00.
- Winning tickets are drawn with numbers posted to a white board
- Winners are drawn periodically throughout the day, and the winning number is assigned to a prize.
- Prize table is replenished throughout the day, so be sure to buy plenty of tickets, and check the table often.
Raffle Prizes
- These are the larger, more expensive donations or bundles of several smaller prizes.
- Raffle Tickets are $5 Each Or 5 tickets for $20.
- Raffle tickets are entered and drawn per item.
- Put all of your tickets in one bucket or spread them out as you see fit.
- Winners drawn during the awards ceremony, and you must be present to win.

NOTICE: The Theme is separate from the contest categories. To be considered for a theme award models must be registered specifically in the theme category.
Best in Show
Special Awards and Division Sponsorship
We are most grateful for any contest sponsorship. The contest helps promote the hobby.
Sponsorship makes the contest possible and provides economical advertisement for the sponsor.
We announce the sponsor’s name during the Awards Ceremony for each set of awards.
Additionally, the Contest Division Display Cards (located on the contest tables) display your sponsorship, thus advertising YOU! Furthermore, we can include your logo, phone #, city, and website in addition to your name on the Contest Division Display Cards. Division sponsorship is $60; challenge coin packages are $30. The Best of Show and Theme Awards are $120 each.
A list of the Divisions and special awards is included in the show brochure. Special Awards are sponsored and presented by individuals to emphasize a particular subject or to pay tribute to a special individual or event. Anyone may present a special award. However, it is the responsibility of that individual to acquire the award at their sole expense and present it during the awards ceremony.

EXHIBITS AND DISPLAYS
Do you have a nice collection or you have models you want to display but don’t want to be in the contest?
Do you have models that have been in Modelmania before but are not eligible but still wish to show?
Does your club have a nice display?
We are happy to provide space for your display as long as we have tables available. There is no fee unless electricity is required. Just contact us ahead of time to make arrangements.

There are many places to stay in the area, and if you are looking for accommodations, we will be glad to help.
